Nigiri
Nigirizushi or Nigiri sushi is of the most traditional form of sushi you’ll see. This type of sushi consists of a single topping (of your choosing) placed over palm-pressed sushi rice. Mostly in oblong form.
Sashimi
Sashimi is pretty self-explanatory. It’s fish or shellfish served ala-cart without rice.
Maki
Makizushi or Maki sushi is a type of sushi that has uses fillings and wraps them in sushi rice filled seaweed. Most of the time you will see Maki rolled together in a long cylinder form. Maki sushi is a prevalent type of sushi around the world.
Uramaki
Uramaki sushi is a roll that uses sushi rice on the outside wrapped around certain ingredients. So instead of the fillings on the inside, they are on the outside.
Temaki
Temaki sushi is a cone-shaped hand-rolled type of sushi with nori on the outside. It’s often rolled by using one half of the nori sheet and then adding a small amount of rice and equal lengths of filling ingredients.
